...LOW SNOW LEVELS WITH MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF PRECIPITATION... .A sharp cold front will push through the region Monday night into Tuesday morning with a cold air mass to follow through at least Thursday. Snow levels will quickly lower from around 3000 ft during the day Monday to around 1000-1500 ft late Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday. Multiple waves of precipitation will move through the region while this cold air mass is in place, bringing multiple opportunities for low elevation snow. This will be a long duration event, and after the initial front Monday night, precipitation will become more showery, resulting in periods of spotty and quick accumulations. The values reflected below indicate totals over a 72 hour period from 10pm Monday through 10pm Thursday. Daytime heating will result in snow levels rising to around 2000-2500 ft during the daylight hours, then lower back down during the overnight periods. The best chances for accumulating snow down to valley floors will be during the overnight and early morning hours. * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 10 to 15 inches, with up to 2 ft expected above 5000 ft. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph over high and exposed terrain. * WHERE...The southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, and Eastern Douglas County Foothills. Including the locations of...Toketee Falls, Steamboat, Crescent Lake, Diamond Lake, Union Creek, Howard Prairie. This also includes the following passes or notable locations... Siskiyou Pass on I-5 at 4310 ft. Lake of the Woods on 140 at 5070 ft. Diamond Lake Junction on state highways 230 & 138 at 4478 ft. Mt. Ashland ski road and lodge at 6500 ft. Caves National Monument near highway 46 at 4000 ft. Willamette Pass on state highway 58 at 5090 ft. * WHEN...From 10 PM Monday to 10 AM PST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow is expected Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Alcohol Prohibitions

Clearwater #2 Forebay Forest Camp offers a quiet, secluded camping experience with 5 pond-side campsites along the forebay. This free forest camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. The campground is located in the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest. Facilities are minimal but adequate for dispersed-style camping. A vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water available. Campers must be prepared to treat or filter water from nearby water sources. There are no garbage services, so visitors must pack out all trash. Maximum vehicle length is 25 feet, and the maximum stay is 14 days anywhere on the forest. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions including Toketee Falls, Umpqua Hot Springs, and Watson Falls. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m., check-out is at 12:00 p.m., and quiet hours are enforced between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash no more than six feet long during the day and inside an enclosed vehicle or tent at night.

Directions

From Glide, OR, take Highway 138E eastbound toward Diamond Lake for 44 miles. Turn left onto NF-4776 and continue for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto NF-300 and continue for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto NF-252 and continue for 1.5 miles until reaching Clearwater #2 Forebay Forest Camp.
