About

Twin Creek Campground Group Camping Site sits in the Twin Creek drainage near its confluence with the North Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest. Large pine trees and brush surround the site, providing ample shade and privacy at 5,100 feet elevation. The group area can accommodate up to 35 individuals and includes a double vault toilet, drinking water from a hand pump, four picnic tables (two extra-long), a historic pavilion with table and benches, and a large fire ring with multiple BBQ pedestals. Recreational opportunities abound in this corner of the forest. Fishing is available in both the North Fork of the Salmon River and Twin Creek. Trails #6108 and #6109 depart from directly behind the campground for day hiking. Berry picking can be excellent around the campground during certain seasons. The Salmon River lies 15 miles south, and Highway 93 follows portions of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. The campground is accessible from Highway 93 via Forest Road 156. From North Fork, travel 15 miles north on US 93, turn left on FR 156 for 0.5 miles, then turn left into the group site. From Lost Trail Pass, travel 8.5 miles south on US 93, turn right on FR 156 for 0.5 miles.
