About

Crazy Creek Horse Camp is a free, first-come first-served equestrian campground located in the Sula Ranger District of Bitterroot National Forest, Montana. Situated at 5,000 feet elevation, the camp offers six horse camping sites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, feed bins, hitching rails, and a stock water trough. A vault toilet is available, though there is no potable water on site. Campers can obtain drinking water at the nearby Crazy Creek Campground, which operates its well from May through September. The campground is positioned between Crazy Creek Campground and Warm Springs Trailhead, providing direct access to Warm Springs Creek Trail 103 which follows the creek upstream. The area offers opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, hunting, and wildlife viewing. Weed-free certified feed is required for all livestock. The campground operates year-round until snow closes access. Peak season runs Memorial Day through Labor Day. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and camping is limited to 16 consecutive days. Pets must be leashed, proper food storage is required, and all garbage must be packed out.

Directions

From Sula, MT, head northwest 2.9 miles on Highway 93. Turn west (left) onto Medicine Springs Road #370. Travel 4 miles to the campground.
