About

Flumet Flat Group Campground sits in a large meadow in southwest Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, making it ideal for group events such as reunions, church camps, school field trips, and scouting gatherings. The campground features individual spurs for tents and trailers, with the entire site reserved for a single group. The Applegate River is within walking distance, offering swimming and fishing opportunities. The Gin Lin National Recreation Trail, a 3/4 mile self-guided loop showcasing 19th century mining history, is located just south of the campground. Spring visitors can enjoy wildflowers including dwarf star tulips, lilies, shooting stars, larkspurs, and buttercups. Nearby Mule Mountain Trail provides long-distance hiking through the arid ridges of the Siskiyous with views of the Applegate Valley. Applegate Lake, north of the Red Buttes Wilderness Area, offers additional recreation including boating, fishing, and mountain biking. The gate is locked and the combination is provided in the reservation confirmation. Campers should be aware of rattlesnakes, ticks, and poison oak common in the Applegate Valley.

Directions

From Jacksonville, Oregon, travel west on Highway 238 for 8.1 miles to Ruch. Turn left onto Upper Applegate Road and travel 9.6 miles to Palmer Creek Road. Turn right onto Palmer Creek Road and travel 0.5 mile to the Flumet Flat Group Campground entrance on the right.
