About

Howell Run Picnic Area is a day-use facility situated on the shores of Jennings Randolph Lake in the rugged Allegheny Mountains. The picnic area offers panoramic views of the 952-acre reservoir and provides a scenic setting for outdoor recreation. Visitors can spot bald eagles that nest at the lake, particularly when using binoculars along the shoreline. The area features 26 picnic tables, 13 grills, two covered pavilions, playground equipment, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. The Lakeside Trail connects the picnic area to Shaw Beach, offering a three-quarter mile walk through lakeside vegetation.
