About
Edson Creek Campground is located in the coastal range between Bandon and Port Orford, offering open meadow-style camping along the beautiful Edson Creek as it flows into the meandering Sixes River. The campground features 27 first-come, first-served campsites and 5 reservable group sites. Four of the group sites (B-E) are accessed via a seasonal bridge across the creek, providing private camping areas for groups of up to 25 people. Group site A is located near the main campground. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The location is popular for fishing, boating, swimming, and water play. A boat launch and day use area sit across Sixes River Road from the main campground, providing easy access to the Sixes River for fishing and boating. The river and creek are home to steelhead trout and Pacific salmon during their spawning runs. Tall red alder and myrtlewood trees flank the open meadows, creating a scenic setting and habitat for diverse wildlife species. The campground's inland location provides warm temperatures while maintaining easy access to nearby coastal attractions including Cape Blanco Lighthouse, New River Nature Center, Oregon State Parks, and several coastal beaches.
