About
Arizona Beach State Recreation Site is a 68-acre park on the southern Oregon coast in Curry County. Acquired by Oregon Parks and Recreation Department in 2008 from a private landowner, the property was historically used as a private campground. The park features a two-thirds mile stretch of sandy beach flanked by two rocky headlands, providing a relatively sheltered and cloistered coastal experience compared to more wind-exposed beaches on the Oregon coast. The park offers a group camp area that accommodates up to 25 people with space for up to 10 RVs and tent camping. Access to the group camp requires passing under a 13'6" freeway overpass, which may not accommodate larger RVs with rooftop air conditioning units, vents, or other rooftop equipment. The group camp does not have hookups or showers on-site, though nearby Humbug Mountain State Park facilities are available. Beach access adjacent to the group camp is open to other park visitors. The beach area is known for rock hounding opportunities at two creeks that flow to the ocean, and the park is home to wildlife including a resident elk herd. The park provides day-use beach access with a parking area and observation points at an average elevation of 7 feet.
