About

Cape Blanco State Park sits at the westernmost point of Oregon, perched above the Pacific Ocean on a dramatic headland. The campground is nestled deep in coastal forest, offering private and sheltered sites that provide protection from the fierce coastal storms that can sweep across this exposed cape. Despite being inland from the ocean views, the forested setting creates a peaceful atmosphere with each site surrounded by vegetation for privacy. The park offers much more than just camping. Visitors can tour the historic Cape Blanco Lighthouse, one of the oldest continuously operating lighthouses in Oregon, and the Hughes House, an early Irish settler's home that provides a glimpse into 19th-century coastal life. Miles of trails wind through the park, leading to windswept headlands, secluded beaches, and viewpoints overlooking the rugged coastline. The park's location makes it an ideal base camp for exploring southern Oregon's coast between Coos Bay and Gold Beach. With full hookup sites available alongside standard campsites, tent sites, horse camps, and cabins, Cape Blanco accommodates a variety of camping styles. The campground can handle large RVs with driveway lengths up to 81 feet at select sites. The year-round operation makes it accessible in all seasons, though winter brings dramatic storm-watching opportunities along this exposed stretch of coast.
