About
Brush Creek Campground, also known as Chattahoochee Old Town, is a Heard County-maintained recreation area situated on the shores of West Point Lake in Franklin, Georgia. The campground offers a mix of RV sites with electric and water hookups as well as primitive camping options, making it suitable for various camping preferences. The facility provides direct boat access to the 25,900-acre West Point Lake, which extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line. Campers can enjoy fishing, boating, and water sports on the lake's 525 miles of shoreline. On-site amenities include bathhouses, picnic pavilions, fire pits, picnic tables, a baseball field, basketball court, and playground. The area is also home to American Bald Eagles, providing opportunities for wildlife viewing.
Directions
From Highway 27, exit onto GA 34 west towards Franklin. In Franklin, turn left onto Mary Johnson Drive, which becomes Bevis Road. After approximately 5 miles, turn left onto Brush Creek Park Road; the park entrance is at the end of the road.
