About

O'Hara Saddle Campground is a small primitive camping area located on an open ridge top overlooking a meadow in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests near Elk City, Idaho. At 5,220 feet elevation, the site provides a scenic overnight option for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts traveling the surrounding forest roads. The campground offers two camp pads with fire rings but no other developed amenities. There are no toilets, no potable water, and no trash service. Campers must bring all water supplies and pack out all garbage. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fee and no reservations. While officially open year-round, access may be limited by snow conditions during winter months. The area sees its heaviest use during big game hunting season when hunters use the site as a base camp.
