About

Glade Creek Campground is a group reservation site tucked away on about four acres along the Wild and Scenic Lochsa River in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The campground sits on a large bend in the river, positioning its private beach completely hidden from Highway 12 despite being close to the road. Shaded by a canopy of mixed-age conifers and low-growing shrubs, the site provides a cool retreat during summer months. The campground features four sites suitable for groups up to 35 people, with two sites located adjacent to the river. A group fire ring with benches sits near the water. Each site includes accessible fire rings, 10-foot picnic tables, level tent pads, and graveled parking areas. Site 2 offers an extra table and multiple tent sites. The campground can accommodate up to four travel trailers under 24 feet, with short spurs not suitable for larger RVs. Maximum capacity is 15 passenger vehicles. Popular activities include fishing and swimming in the Lochsa River, as well as whitewater rafting and kayaking for thrill-seekers. Three hiking and biking trails (numbers 142, 111, and 107) are located within two miles of the campground and are also open to motorcycles from approximately June through September. The site requires advance reservation through Recreation.gov at $50 per night, with a gate combination code provided upon confirmation. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 p.m. Campers must pack out all trash and can obtain water at Apgar Campground, one mile west on Highway 12.
