About

Platter Flats Campground occupies a shaded, waterfront location on the eastern shore of Lake Texoma in Oklahoma's Cross Timbers region. The campground is split into two loops: Loop A contains 39 equestrian sites (38 with 30-amp electric and water hookups, plus one primitive tent site), while Loop B offers 26 standard family sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups. Most sites feature gravel back-in driveways, fire pits, and picnic tables. A day-use group shelter with electricity is also available for reservation. Facilities include a comfort station with flush toilets and showers, vault toilets, potable water, and an RV dump station. A boat ramp and dock provide direct lake access. During winter months, individual water hookups are shut off, but a frost-free hydrant remains operational. Gates are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Lake Texoma is known as the "Striper Capital of the World" for its naturally reproducing striped bass fishery, alongside largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish. Beyond fishing and boating, campers can explore the scenic 14-mile Cross Timbers hiking trail or access over 40 miles of equestrian trails surrounding the lake. Note that equestrian sites are open to all campers regardless of whether they bring horses.
