Coeur D'Alene Campground is located on Melvern Lake, a 7,000-acre reservoir on the Marais des Cygnes River managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground sits on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills, the last remaining expanse of intact tallgrass prairie in America. The surrounding 18,000 acres of public land provide hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, quail, and waterfowl. The campground offers 47 sites with varying levels of service. Site 1 is ADA accessible with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups. Sites 2-8, 34-43, 50, and 55 have 30-amp electric with water hookups. Sites 44-49, 51-54, and 56-60 are basic 30-amp electric only. All driveways are paved back-in style with a 50-foot maximum length for RVs and trailers. Amenities include flush and vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Recreation options include boating, swimming at the beach, and fishing for walleye, crappie, catfish, and multiple bass species. The Breakwater Trail and 4-mile Tall Grass Heritage Trail connect to Arrow Rock Campground. Three playgrounds, a fish cleaning station, and a marina with boat dock are on site.

From US-75, take the Melvern Exit and travel 2 miles south on Melvern Lake Parkway, then 1 mile northwest on Coeur d'Alene Parkway.
