Michigan Valley

Open

Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates from May 1 through October 31. Reservations available through Recreation.gov.

About

Michigan Valley is the largest campground at Pomona Lake, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in eastern Kansas. The campground offers 87 sites spread across multiple loops, with 51 featuring 50-amp electric and water hookups and 36 non-electric sites. Three group shelters with electric hookups accommodate larger gatherings. Site sizes vary, with some pull-through sites accommodating vehicles up to 96 feet. Facilities include both flush and vault toilets, a shower building, playground, basketball court, swim beach, and dump station. The campground sits among mixed grasslands and forests, providing habitat for bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkey. Three trails offer hiking opportunities nearby: Deer Creek Nature Trail and Witches' Broom Trail for shorter walks, and the 33-mile Black Hawk Trail loop popular for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. The town of Lyndon is 20 minutes away with limited services.
