Wolf Creek Campground occupies a secluded, heavily shaded setting on the north shore of Pomona Lake in Osage County, Kansas. The 4,000-acre reservoir, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, draws family campers, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts to its rolling eastern Kansas landscape of mixed grasslands and forests. The campground provides 78 family campsites split between 45 electric hookup sites and 33 primitive sites, plus one large group camping area. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Facilities include both flush and vault toilets, a shower building, playground, ball field, and RV dump station. A boat ramp and marina are located nearby for lake access. Pomona Lake offers excellent fishing for crappie, walleye, bass, and channel catfish. Beyond the water, three trails wind through the area. The 33-mile Black Hawk Trail loop is popular for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, while the shorter Deer Creek Nature Trail and Witches' Broom Trail provide easier nature walks. Bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkey are commonly observed. The town of Lyndon lies less than 10 miles away with basic services.

Directions

From US 75 and K-268 junction, proceed east on K-268 for 7 miles to Pomona Dam Road. Turn north and proceed 2.5 miles across the dam. After crossing the dam, turn west on Wolf Creek Parkway and remain on this road for 1.2 miles to the park entrance.
