Taylor Campground occupies a prime location on the southern shore of Granger Lake, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir created in 1980 for flood control on the San Gabriel River. The campground's 48 sites each feature water and electric hookups, a picnic table, fire ring, and shade structure. Modern amenities include flush toilets and showers, while a playground keeps families entertained and a boat dock provides direct lake access. The Comanche Bluff Trail loops around the campground and extends along the lake's southern shoreline, offering opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing. Granger Lake ranks among central Texas's top five fishing destinations for crappie and white bass. The surrounding area includes several designated wildlife management areas: Pecan Grove, San Gabriel, Sore Finger, and Willis Creek. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Park hours run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and camping is limited to 14 consecutive days within a 30-day period. Firewood gathering is prohibited; campers must purchase firewood locally.

From Interstate Highway 35, take Highway 79 east to Highway 95. Go north on Highway 95 to FM 1331. Go east on FM 1331 for approximately 5 miles to the entrance on the left.
