* WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Atascosa, Bandera, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, De Witt, Fayette, Frio, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Medina, Travis, Williamson and Wilson. * WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing high rainfall rates which could quickly lead to flooding across the area. Be especially cautious as creeks, streams, and rivers may rise out of their banks quickly. Wilson H. Fox Park sits on the shores of Granger Lake, surrounded by the gently rolling hills of the Texas Blackland Prairie. The campground offers 49 Class A campsites including five screened shelters, all equipped with water and electric hookups, covered picnic tables, and stand-up grills. Flush restrooms with showers are available, along with a dump station for RV campers. The park provides excellent water recreation access with two boat ramps, a fishing dock, and a seasonal swimming beach open March through October. Anglers can pursue catfish, white bass, and crappie. Two playgrounds serve families with children. A fish cleaning station is located by the east boat ramp restroom. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and reservations are available through Recreation.gov. The nearby Pecan Grove Wildlife Area below the dam offers wildlife viewing opportunities, and archery hunting for feral hogs is permitted in surrounding areas year-round.
Directions
From I-35 take Highway 79 east to Highway 95. Go north to FM 1331 then go east on FM 1331 for approximately 7 miles to the entrance of Granger Dam. Turn left and take next left into the park.
