Chavez Crossing Group Campground is tucked along Oak Creek in the picturesque Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, just south of downtown Sedona. The campground sits at 4,079 feet elevation, shaded by sycamore and cypress groves with Sedona's iconic red rock formations visible in the surrounding landscape. Oak Creek provides opportunities for wading and fishing in its clear waters. The campground features three group sites: Sycamore and Cypress (each accommodating 10-50 people at $136/night) and Ponderosa (10-30 people at $108/night). All sites include picnic tables, fire pits, and cooking grills. Potable water is available throughout the campground, and restroom facilities and trash collection are provided. The campground is strictly reservation-only with no walk-ins permitted. Nearby attractions include Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and the Red Rock/Secret Mountain Wilderness. The campground is adjacent to Poco Diablo Resort and within easy reach of Sedona's restaurants and shopping. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM, and the stay limit is 7 days. Fire restrictions may be in effect seasonally.

Directions

From Flagstaff, take I-17 south to Hwy 89A. Go south on 89A through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. Turn left onto State Highway 179. Go south on Hwy 179 approximately 2 miles. Turn right on Oak Creek Cliffs Dr. to the campground on the left side adjacent to Poco Diablo Resort.
