About
Crescent Moon is a popular day-use picnic site in the Coconino National Forest, located at Red Rock Crossing beneath the iconic Cathedral Rock formation near Sedona. This is one of the most photographed scenes in the American Southwest, where the red rock cliffs reflect in the waters of Oak Creek. Visitors come for picnicking, fishing, wading, and photography. Importantly, this is not a campground. Overnight camping is not permitted at Crescent Moon. The site operates during daylight hours only, with seasonal schedules: 7 AM to 7 PM from April through September, 8 AM to 6 PM from October through November, and 9 AM to 5 PM from December through March. A reservable group ramada is available for events and weddings. Amenities include vault restrooms, potable water, and picnic tables. Day-use fees are $15 per vehicle for up to 5 people, or $4 per person for walk-ins and cyclists. Pets are allowed on leash.
