About
Crescent Moon Ranch Cabin is an exceptional year-round lodging option in one of Arizona's most photographed locations. The rustic ranch house sits adjacent to Oak Creek near the towering Cathedral Rock formation, offering guests a serene natural setting in the high desert at 4,000 feet elevation. The cabin was originally built by homestead ranchers and later made available for public use by the U.S. Forest Service. The cabin accommodates up to 10 people across three bedrooms featuring a queen bed, two full beds, a twin-over-full bunkbed, and three roll-away beds. Three full bathrooms with bathtub/shower combinations provide comfort, while two kitchens offer a sink, electric range, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. The large living room, sectional couch, dining area, and enclosed sun porch provide ample space to relax and enjoy the red rock views. Guests have access to the adjacent Crescent Moon day use area for picnicking, swimming, wading, and fishing in Oak Creek. Hiking, biking, and scenic driving through Oak Creek Canyon are minutes away, as is the resort town of Sedona with shopping, dining, and other attractions.
Directions
From Phoenix, travel north on Interstate 17 and take the Sedona exit (exit 298) onto Highway 179 north. Go through the Village of Oak Creek to Sedona. Turn left onto State Highway 89A and proceed west through Sedona to Upper Red Rock Loop Road. Turn left and continue to Chavez Ranch Road, then turn left again. At the stop sign, continue straight. At the top of the hill, continue straight bearing right towards the gravel road and go through the locked gate. Turn left at the end of the road. The cabin is the last house on the right with a garage. Gate and house share the same combination for entry.
