About

Woo Ranch is not an active campground or cabin rental but rather an abandoned historic ranch property located in the Red Rock country of the Coconino National Forest near Sedona, Arizona. The site lies approximately 0.5 miles before Palatki Heritage Site on Forest Road 795, at the base of the rust-colored cliffs of the Mogollon Rim between Casner Mountain and Boynton Pass. The ranch features significant archaeological resources, including pictograph panels depicting hunting scenes with desert bighorn sheep, water symbols, and handprints. These rock art panels are situated on a ridge near the old ranch house. The 160-acre property was acquired around 2000 through the Trust for Public Land, with 100 acres conveyed to the City of Sedona and 60 acres to the Coconino National Forest. There is no overnight camping permitted at this location. Visitors may park near the gate and walk a short distance down an old dirt road to explore the abandoned ranch structures and view the pictographs. Allow approximately 30 minutes for exploration. A Red Rock Pass or America the Beautiful Interagency Pass is required for parking in this area.
