About

Bowery Creek Campground is a developed Forest Service facility on the shore of Fish Lake in central Utah's Fishlake National Forest. Situated at 9,000 feet elevation on a sagebrush-covered hillside dotted with aspen and cottonwood, the campground provides sweeping views across Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake at 2,500 acres. The campground offers a mix of single-family standard nonelectric sites and six group sites accommodating 20-30 people each. All roads and parking spurs are paved. Facilities include flush toilets and potable drinking water, though campers must pack out all trash. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station on site. Fish Lake is famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout, with rainbow trout and splake also available. The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail departs directly from the campground, climbing through meadows and dense forests to 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop. Boating, swimming, and scuba diving are popular. Johnson Valley Reservoir just north offers additional fishing opportunities.
