About

Tasha Equestrian Campground is a specialized equestrian facility in the Fishlake National Forest, situated in a mixed forest of aspen, spruce, and pine at 9,013 feet elevation. The campground requires visitors to have horses and is designed specifically for horse camping with corrals, hitching posts, a staging area, and direct access to miles of mountain trails. The area offers excellent horseback riding through high alpine terrain and proximity to Fish Lake, known for its Mackinaw trout fishing. The campground has 9 standard single-family sites at $14/night and one group site at $50/night that accommodates up to 25 people with 10 vehicles. Amenities include flush toilets and potable drinking water during the operating season. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no garbage services. Due to the high elevation, weather can change rapidly and campers should be prepared for cold conditions even in summer. Certified weed-free hay is required for all horses. ATVs and OHVs are prohibited in the Fish Lake basin. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and camping is limited to 16 consecutive days.
