About

Tasha Equestrian Campground is located in central Utah at 9,000 feet elevation, just 4 miles north of Fish Lake in Fishlake National Forest. This dedicated equestrian facility is designed exclusively for campers with horses, offering specialized amenities including horse corrals, a staging area, hitching racks, and direct trailhead access. The campground features both single-family sites and a group site with a picnic shelter. The high mountain setting is forested with mixed stands of aspen, spruce, and pine providing partial shade, with most sites offering sweeping mountain and valley views. Gravel roads and spurs provide good access for horse trailers and trucks. Miles of horseback riding, hiking, and biking trails crisscross the surrounding area. Johnson Valley Reservoir sits just half a mile from the campground, offering boating and fishing opportunities. Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout, is less than 10 minutes away. The Mytoge Mountain Trail, a 25-mile loop, offers varied terrain around the Fish Lake area. Due to the high elevation, the site is prone to rapid weather changes and seasonal closures during winter months.
