About

Tasha Equestrian Campground is a specialized horse camping facility located in central Utah at 9,000 feet elevation, just 4 miles north of Fish Lake. The campground caters exclusively to equestrian campers and requires all guests to have horses with them. Facilities include corrals, a staging area, hitching racks, trailheads, flush toilets, and drinking water. The campground offers both single-family sites and one group site with a picnic shelter that accommodates up to 25 people and 10 vehicles. All sites feature picnic tables and fire pits. The high mountain setting is forested with a mixed stand of aspen, spruce, and pine trees providing partial shade, with most sites offering sweeping mountain and valley views. Roads and spurs are gravel with good access for trailers and trucks. The remote location is prone to rapid weather changes due to elevation, making proper preparation essential. Recreation opportunities abound with miles of horseback riding, hiking, biking, and off-road vehicle trails crisscrossing the area. Johnson Valley Reservoir sits just a half-mile away with boating, fishing, and a boat ramp. Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake famous for 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout, is less than 10 minutes away and offers additional amenities including boat ramps, rentals, marina, fuel, groceries, and restaurants. The 25-mile Mytoge Mountain Trail loop provides everything from easy cruising to challenging singletrack.
