About
Located in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest at an elevation of 9,200 feet, North Fork Campground offers 60 sites divided into two sections within a dense forest of lodgepole pine and spruce. Ten of those sites sit along the banks of the North Fork of the Little Laramie River, whose sound carries throughout most of the campground. The area supports diverse wildlife including black bear, bobcat, coyote, elk, mule deer, and moose. The campground is well-suited for RVs and provides vault toilets, picnic tables, and trash collection. Potable water from hand pumps is typically available from July through September at select sites, though dates vary based on weather and maintenance. Campfires are permitted only in USFS-approved metal fire rings. Mountain bikers and hikers have direct access to the scenic North Fork Trail #390 from the campground. Anglers can fish for trout in the clear mountain waters of the North Fork of the Little Laramie River. The nearby Scenic Highway 130 and North Fork Overlook offer additional sightseeing opportunities for those seeking a more leisurely experience.
Directions
