Libby Creek Pine Campground

Closed

Currently closed for the season. Opens June 1 and operates through September 30, weather dependent. First-come, first-served only for 2026; no advance reservations. Hand pump water typically available July through September.

About

Located off the Snowy Range Scenic Byway in the Libby Creek Recreation Area, Pine Campground is a small 6-site campground along the banks of Libby Creek at 8,600 feet elevation. The creek flows down from Libby Lake, providing a scenic creekside camping experience in the Medicine Bow National Forest. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only. Each site includes a picnic table and USFS-approved metal fire ring. A vault toilet serves the campground, and a hand pump provides potable water typically from July through September, though availability varies due to weather, maintenance, and water testing requirements. Trash collection is provided. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 2 vehicles. Nearby Barber Lake Picnic Site, further down Barber Lake Road, features a retention pond typically stocked with Rainbow Trout during summer months. The Corner Mountain Trailhead provides access to hiking trails in the area.

Directions

From Laramie, take WY 130 west to the Forest Boundary near Centennial, then travel 1/2 mile west to Barber Lake Road on the south side of the Snowy Range Highway. Pine Campground is on the right.
