Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches across northern UT mountains, with amounts in excess of 18 inches in the Upper Cottonwoods. * WHERE...The Wasatch Mountains, and Western Uinta Mountains. * WHEN...From 3 AM Thursday to 9 AM MDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Winter driving conditions are expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will start off around 8000 feet before dropping below valley floors as a cold front progresses across northern UT through the early afternoon Thursday. Snowfall rates are forecast to be heaviest in the early hours just ahead of and along the cold front. Snowfall rates will then gradually taper off Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.

Pioneer Campground is located on the banks of the Blacksmith Fork River in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, approximately 9 miles east of Hyrum, Utah at an elevation of 5,600 feet. This small, intimate campground offers 17 single sites nestled under a canopy of black willow and box elder trees, creating naturally secluded camping spots surrounded by rugged hills. The campground provides a back-to-basics camping experience with vault restrooms and potable water available during the operating season. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Visitors enjoy excellent access to outdoor recreation including fishing in the Blacksmith Fork River, hiking, and exploring off-road trails. Mountain bikers can follow Forest Road 245 to reach the Great Western Trail near the Blacksmith Fork Guard Station. The canyon setting offers opportunities for wildlife viewing and scenic drives through the surrounding national forest. The campground operates seasonally with road closures typically from December through mid-April. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 1 vehicle per site, with extra vehicles allowed for a fee. A 7-day stay limit applies, and there is a 2-night minimum on weekends and 3-night minimum on holiday weekends. Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance through Recreation.gov. Gates are open 7am-10pm daily with quiet hours from 10pm-6am.

In Hyrum, UT, at the intersection of State Routes 165 and 101, take Route 101 east 8 miles to the campground sign. Turn right at the sign into the campground.
