The east end of Wahoo Bay will be fenced off starting April 10, 2026, so contactors can utilize the area for staging as part of the bridge replacement project on State Highway 251A across the Fort Gibson dam. Public access to the east boat ramp and campsites 17-20 will be closed.

In southeast Oklahoma, McIntosh and Pittsburg. * WHEN...Until 730 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 417 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. Dam Site Closure - The west side of Dam Site (including the Dam Site North boat ramp) will be closed beginning May 17, 2026 for the bridge deck replacement across the Fort Gibson dam. Highway 251A will be gated just past the Overlook entrance road. Access will be restricted to construction and Corps personnel only. Area will be closed for a minimum of 2 1/2 years. Dam Site East fishing wall and the Overlook areas will remain open.
