Arkansas River near Muskogee affecting Muskogee County. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Arkansas River near Muskogee. * WHEN...Until early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, no flooding occurs but low lying agricultural areas may be threatened. Continue to monitor later forecasts. At 28.0 feet, minor lowland flooding occurs. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 27.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fluctuate between 27 and 28 feet through Friday. Wahoo Bay

The east end of Wahoo Bay will be fenced off starting April 10, 2026, so contactors can utilize the area for staging as part of the bridge replacement project on State Highway 251A across the Fort Gibson dam. Public access to the east boat ramp and campsites 17-20 will be closed.

Dam Site

Dam Site Closure - The west side of Dam Site (including the Dam Site North boat ramp) will be closed beginning May 17, 2026 for the bridge deck replacement across the Fort Gibson dam. Highway 251A will be gated just past the Overlook entrance road. Access will be restricted to construction and Corps personnel only. Area will be closed for a minimum of 2 1/2 years. Dam Site East fishing wall and the Overlook areas will remain open.
