The east end of Wahoo Bay will be fenced off starting April 10, 2026, so contactors can utilize the area for staging as part of the bridge replacement project on State Highway 251A across the Fort Gibson dam. Public access to the east boat ramp and campsites 17-20 will be closed.

About

Wahoo Bay sits on the north side of Fort Gibson Dam, providing campers with direct access to the main body of the 19,900-acre lake. The campground is organized into two loops: the West loop with 14 sites and the East loop with 6 sites. Mature trees throughout the area provide welcome shade during Oklahoma summers, and the quiet cove setting makes it a popular choice for anglers and boaters looking for a less crowded launch point. Facilities are basic but functional. Water spigots are distributed throughout the park for filling tanks, and a vault toilet is located near the boat ramp parking lot. The two on-site boat ramps include a courtesy dock at the main ramp. Several stores, marinas, and RV/boat storage facilities are located within a few miles of the campground. Fishing is the primary draw. The lake supports healthy populations of black bass, white bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and various panfish. The surrounding 225 miles of shoreline also include public hunting lands for deer, quail, dove, waterfowl, rabbit, and squirrel.

Directions

From Wagoner, take State Highway 51 east toward Fort Gibson Dam. Turn north onto N 55th Street East and follow it to the campground entrance at 9554 N 55th St. East, Wagoner, OK 74467.
