About

Taylor Ferry South is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground situated in an oak-hickory forest on the main body of Fort Gibson Lake. The mature tree canopy provides substantial shade throughout the day, and most of the rocky shoreline slopes gradually for easy water access. Of the 95 sites, 89 have electric hookups (a mix of 30 and 50 amp service) with water, while 6 are primitive tent sites. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The nearly 20,000-acre lake offers excellent boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Anglers target black bass, white bass, crappie, catfish, and panfish. A rock fishing jetty provides shoreline access, and a boat ramp is on site. Across Highway 51, a man-made sandy swim beach with playground equipment and a life jacket loaner program serves campers and day visitors. Conveniently located off Highway 51 just five miles east of Wagoner, the campground is close to stores, marinas, and boat/RV storage facilities. Historic Fort Gibson, a National Historic Landmark established in 1824, is nearby and open year-round for visitors interested in frontier history.
