* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe and Watauga and Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Roanoke, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. The low water level at W. Kerr Scott Lake will prevent the swim beaches from opening. Currently Berry Mountain Park, Boomer Park (swim beach side of park), Fort Hamby swim beach, Bandits Roost swim beach will not open until major rain event brings the lake level back up to normal level. Keep checking for updates regarding boat ramps. Boaters use extreme caution while on the lake. Some boat ramps may become hazardous for you to launch your boat.
