Berry Mountain Park Shelter is located in Berry Mountain Park at W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir in northwestern North Carolina. This ADA-accessible lakefront shelter provides an ideal setting for group gatherings with six 8-foot picnic tables that can accommodate up to 35 people and parking for up to 15 vehicles. A water spigot is available at the shelter, though there is no electricity. The facility operates as a day-use area only, with check-in at 8:00 AM and checkout at 8:00 PM. No overnight camping is allowed. The shelter can be reserved through Recreation.gov or used on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved. An additional $5 per vehicle entry fee is charged at the park entrance. Pets are allowed at the shelter. The 1,475-acre W. Kerr Scott Reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. Anglers can fish for channel catfish, large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, threadfin shad, spotted bass, striped bass, and hybrid striped bass. The gentle Yadkin River flows through its scenic valley in the foothills of the eastern Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by forests of mixed hardwoods including sycamore, poplar, oak, and hickory.

From Charlotte, take I-77 North approximately 60 miles, then merge onto Highway 421 North towards Wilkesboro/Boone. Continue to Exit 286B approximately 20 miles, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 4 miles. Berry Mountain Park will be on the right. From Winston-Salem, take Highway 421 North approximately 55 miles to Exit 286B, turn left onto Highway 268 and continue for approximately 4 miles. Berry Mountain Park will be on the right.
