Yellowstone Lake State Park Campground sits on the shores of one of southwestern Wisconsin's few lakes, a 455-acre reservoir along the Yellowstone River. The family campground offers 128 individual sites spread across a bluff-top setting, with 38 sites featuring electrical hookups. All sites include a fire ring and picnic table. The park also features five group campsites for tent camping, with sites accommodating 25 to 50 people. Year-round camping is available with vault toilets and drinking water always accessible. During the warmer months, campers have access to flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. The campground includes accessible facilities, with sites 42 and 49 designated as accessible sites with electricity. A boat launch, swimming beach, and fishing opportunities draw visitors to the lake, while miles of trails wind through the surrounding 4,000-acre Yellowstone Wildlife Area. Winter transforms the park into a destination for ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., though winter visitors should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited seasonal facilities. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Wisconsin State Park system.

Directions

From Madison, head west on U.S. Highway 18/151 toward Dodgeville. Take the State Highway 78 South exit and head south on 78 to Blanchardville. After passing through downtown Blanchardville, turn right on County Highway F at the T-intersection where County F and Highway 78 split. Continue on F for about 8 miles to Lake Road. Turn left onto Lake Road; the park office is about 1 mile east on the right side.
