About

Yegua Creek Campground occupies a scenic peninsula along the shoreline of Somerville Lake, roughly 11 miles north of Brenham in Washington County. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages 82 campsites here, with approximately 65 sites offering 50-amp electric service and water hookups. The remaining sites are designated tent-only without electric. On-site amenities include flush restrooms with hot showers, a dump station, metal mesh picnic tables, and fire rings with flip-over grates for cooking. Two boat ramps provide direct lake access for fishing and water sports, while an interpretive nature trail winds through the area. Pelicans and other waterfowl frequent the shoreline. The lake supports excellent fishing for white bass, hybrid-striped bass, crappie, catfish, and largemouth bass reaching 10 pounds or more. Rocky Creek Park nearby offers additional lake access. The town of Somerville is less than 10 miles away with restaurants and shops.
