Rocky Creek Park sits on a scenic peninsula at Somerville Lake in Washington County, Texas, operated year-round by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground provides 192 total sites: 30 sites with 30-amp electrical hookups, 127 sites with 50-amp hookups, and 35 tent sites with 30-amp electrical service. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The park features multiple modern bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers, though one bathhouse in the sites 44-50 loop is temporarily closed for maintenance. The peninsula setting provides large tree coverage offering limited shade, with pelicans and other waterfowl frequenting the shoreline. On-site facilities include two boat ramps for lake access, a dump station, a group picnic shelter, and a playground. Park gates are open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM with gate house control. Somerville Lake is renowned for excellent fishing, with catches of crappie, catfish, white bass, hybrid-striped bass, and largemouth bass frequently weighing 10 pounds or more. Water sports, hiking, and biking are popular activities. The city of Somerville is less than 10 miles away, offering restaurants and shopping. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 2:00 PM. Maximum occupancy is two camping units or three tents with up to 10 people per site.

From Austin, Texas, take US 290 east to Brenham. Follow HWY 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left on FM 1948 and follow 5 miles to the park entrance.
