About
Wolf Creek Park occupies a scenic position on the northern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in Navarro County, Texas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground provides 50 campsites with water and 30-amp electric hookups, along with 22 non-electric sites and 2 double sites. Many sites are partly shaded, and the campground includes both pull-through sites accommodating rigs up to 90 feet and back-in sites for smaller setups. Facilities include restrooms with showers, an RV dump station, a two-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, and a fishing pier. The lake is renowned for crappie fishing and holds the Texas state record for white crappie. Channel catfish, yellow catfish, and hybrid stripers are also caught regularly. Birdwatching is popular year-round, with sightings of great blue herons, hawks, waterfowl, and occasional bald eagles. Spring visitors can enjoy spectacular wildflower displays including bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes. Wildlife in the area includes white-tailed deer, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, raccoons, and armadillos. Note that invasive Argentine ants are present; campers should avoid leaving food or trash out and consider ant deterrents around equipment.
Directions
From Corsicana or Waco, travel on State Highway 31 toward the lake. Turn north onto FM 667 and continue about 3 miles to the intersection with FM 639. Turn west and continue about 2 miles into the park entrance.
