About

Pecan Point Park sits on the northern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground provides a mix of 5 sites with water and 50-amp electric hookups alongside 30 non-electric sites, accommodating various camping preferences. Public restrooms with shower facilities and a dump station serve the campground. The gatehouse at the park entrance operates from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with gate attendants living on-site for 24-hour emergency assistance. Navarro Mills Lake holds the Texas state record for white crappie, drawing anglers from across the region to sample some of the finest crappie fishing available. The lake also supports healthy populations of channel catfish, yellow catfish, and hybrid stripers. Beyond fishing, the park serves as an excellent birding destination year-round, with sightings of songbirds, hawks, great blue herons, ducks, geese, shorebirds, and occasional bald eagles. In spring, the park transforms into a wildflower showcase, with bluebonnets, paintbrushes, and native plants creating brilliant displays. The park's location provides convenient access for city-dwellers from the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area seeking a lakeside retreat. Shaded campsites offer respite from the Texas heat, and the surrounding habitat supports diverse wildlife including white-tailed deer, foxes, bobcats, raccoons, armadillos, and various small mammals.

Directions

From Corsicana or Waco, travel on State Highway 31 toward the lake. Turn north onto FM 667 and continue for 5 miles. Turn west onto FM 744 and go about 3 miles to the intersection with FM 1578. Turn south and drive about 2 miles to CR 3360. Turn right and drive into the park entrance.
