About

Recreation Point Group Campground occupies a scenic, partially shaded cove at the northern end of Bass Lake within Sierra National Forest. Sitting at 3,400 feet elevation, the tent-only campground provides direct access to one of the region's most popular recreation lakes. The campground consists of four overnight group sites on one loop (Knoll, Lagoon, Scout, and Acorn) with capacities ranging from 30 to 50 people, plus three group picnic areas (Cove, Oak Point, and South Park) on a separate loop accommodating 50 to 100 people. Each campsite is equipped with a water faucet, multiple picnic tables, and a large pedestal grill for cooking. The campground provides flush toilet restrooms. No trailers or RVs are permitted, making this exclusively a tent camping destination suited for scout troops, family reunions, and other organized groups. Bass Lake offers excellent recreation opportunities including swimming at the campground's designated swim area, motorized boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, sailing, and fishing. The lake is stocked with bass, trout, bluegill, and catfish. The campground sees heavy use during summer months due to its lakefront location and group-friendly facilities.
