About
Recreation Point occupies a partially shaded cove on the northern end of Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest's Bass Lake Ranger District. The campground offers four group tent-only sites: Knoll (30 people, $397/night), Lagoon (30 people, $239/night), Scout (45 people, $358/night), and Acorn (50 people, $397/night). Each site includes water faucets, picnic tables, tent pads, and large pedestal grills, with flush toilet restrooms serving the camping loop. Bass Lake provides excellent recreation opportunities including swimming, motorized boating, water skiing, kayaking, and fishing for bass, trout, bluegill, and catfish. Recreation Point has its own designated swim area. Nearby hiking trails include Willow Creek, Goat Mountain, Spring Cove, and the Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail. The campground also has three group day-use picnic areas (Cove, Oak Point, South Park) on a separate loop. Yosemite National Park is less than an hour away, making Bass Lake an ideal base camp for day trips.
