About

Located on the northwest slope of Mount Kearsarge in Wilmot, New Hampshire, Winslow State Park serves as a popular day-use destination for hikers and picnickers. The park's centerpiece is its picnic area situated on an 1,820-foot plateau, offering outstanding panoramic views of the White Mountains to the north and the prominent peaks of southern and central Vermont. The park provides trailhead access to Mount Kearsarge via the Winslow Trail, a steep 1.1-mile route to the summit. This shorter but challenging trail is an alternative to the approach from Rollins State Park on the opposite side of the mountain. The trail begins with rooty terrain before ascending steeply through forested slopes. Winslow State Park operates as a day-use facility only and does not offer camping. Visitors come for hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the scenic mountain views. The park is seasonal, typically closing in mid-November for winter and reopening in late April depending on weather conditions.
