About
Mount Sunapee State Park Campground sits on the mountainside in a secluded natural setting, accessed by an unpaved gravel road through the Mount Sunapee Resort area. The campground features 11 tent-only sites, including 5 lean-tos and 6 tent platforms, all designed for primitive camping in a wooded environment. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with most requiring a 10-50 foot walk from parking to the campsite itself. The sites are well-spaced to provide privacy and a peaceful camping experience. The campground offers basic amenities including pit toilets and drinking water. The unpaved access road and site layouts make this campground unsuitable for RVs or trailers. Campers should be aware that cell service is limited to non-existent depending on provider. Check-in is at Mount Sunapee State Beach before 6 pm, or campers arriving later can set up and check in the following morning. The campground operates seasonally and provides access to the broader recreational opportunities at Mount Sunapee State Park, including the 4,085-acre lake with boating and swimming, hiking trails, and winter skiing at the adjacent Mount Sunapee Resort.
