The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through Labor Day. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. Camping is free.

Wednesday looks to be the hottest day, with Major HeatRisk across the Columbia Basin, Yakima Valley and portions of the Gorge and Blue Mountain Foothills. Thursday will also see widespread moderate HeatRisk and locally major HeatRisk, mainly across the Columbia Basin. Smoke from area wildfires could end up affecting how hot temperatures get.

The Washington State Department of Ecology and Benton Clean Air Agency have issued an Air Quality Alert until 9 AM PDT Wednesday. For the Dust Air Quality Alert, forecasted winds may carry large amounts of dust causing air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. About
Windust Park sits on the shores of Lake Sacajawea, a reservoir formed by Ice Harbor Dam on the Lower Snake River in Eastern Washington. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District, this remote campground attracts visitors seeking a quiet retreat away from more developed recreation areas. The park provides 24 primitive campsites on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost. Campsites are scattered among mature shade trees along the waterfront, with picnic tables at each site. Vault toilets and a dump station are available. A boat ramp provides access to the lake for boating and water activities. Lake Sacajawea offers excellent salmon and steelhead fishing opportunities, along with swimming and boating. The campground's remote location on Burr Canyon Road makes it a destination for those willing to travel off the main highways for a peaceful lakeside camping experience.
Directions
From Pasco, Washington, take Highway 12 east to the Pasco-Kahlotus Highway. Drive 30 miles to Burr Canyon Road. Turn right and continue 6 miles to the campground.
