About

Potholes State Park occupies 640 acres of desert terrain along Potholes Reservoir in Grant County, Washington. The reservoir and surrounding pothole lakes were created when O'Sullivan Dam was built in 1949, forming a popular warm-water fishery stocked with bass, walleye, perch, and crappie. The campground offers 60 full-hookup sites for RVs and 61 standard sites for tents and smaller rigs, plus five cabins. The park features flush restrooms with showers, a dump station, drinking water, and a boat launch with dock access to the reservoir. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. The surrounding sand dunes and marshlands attract migratory birds, making this a notable birding destination. Activities include fishing, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife photography. Camping is restricted to designated sites only. Camping directly next to the reservoir is prohibited. The park operates year-round, though water activities are most popular from late spring through early fall when reservoir levels and temperatures are favorable.
