About

Red Hills Lake is a historic recreation area in Sabine National Forest, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1940. The campground surrounds a scenic 19-acre lake that offers swimming at a designated beach and fishing opportunities. Non-motorized boats and rowboats with electric motors are permitted on the lake. The campground provides both standard non-electric sites at $6 per night and electric hookup sites at $10 per night, all on a first-come, first-served basis. Campers can pay on-site via the Recreation.gov Scan and Pay feature. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and potable water available throughout. A dump station is located on-site. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The campground is conveniently located just 2.5 miles north of Milam on TX-87, providing easy access to Toledo Bend Reservoir for additional fishing and boating activities. Day use is also available for $3 per vehicle.
