Potable water is available from two centrally located hydrants. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Trail Between the Lakes, a hiking route connecting Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn reservoirs. Fishing and picnicking opportunities abound along the reservoir shoreline. The area is maintained and operated by the Sabine River Authority of Texas.
