About
Wiley Creek Group Camp is a popular destination for youth groups and organizations, nestled within a magnificent old-growth Douglas fir forest in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Located on Mountain Loop Highway approximately 14 miles east of Granite Falls and 5 miles east of the Verlot Public Service Center, the campground offers easy access to hiking trails leading into towering forests and the banks of the nearby Stillaguamish River. The campground features two distinct group sites. Site A includes a riverside Adirondack shelter with 8 bunk beds plus a separate cooking shelter. Site B offers a unique two-level shelter with approximately 400 square feet per level and is wheelchair accessible. Both sites have fire rings, picnic tables, and rock barbecue pits. Vault toilets are accessible, but campers must bring their own water supply as none is available on-site. The Stillaguamish River provides excellent fishing opportunities for chinook, coho, chum, pink, and sockeye salmon, as well as steelhead trout, sea-run cutthroat, and bull trout. The nearby Gold Basin Mill Pond Interpretive Trail offers a short accessible walk through the area's natural and cultural history, passing by old mill relics and ending at a floating viewpoint over the millpond.
