About

Gold Basin Campground sits near the banks of the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, close to several wilderness areas and hiking trails. The campground features 29 primitive sites beneath towering old-growth forests of cedar, fir, and hemlock. A large open field provides space for group activities and sports. The Gold Basin Mill Pond Interpretive Trail is located across the street and includes a barrier-free boardwalk that passes by historic mill relics and ends on a floating viewpoint. The half-mile boardwalk is wheelchair accessible with benches on viewing platforms. The undeveloped wilderness, clean streams, and diverse forests support abundant wildlife including rare species like lynx, moose, wolves, and wolverine. In addition to hiking and fishing, the area offers biking, picnicking, and horseback riding in summer and early fall, with skiing and snowshoeing available in winter months. Visitors should be aware that no potable water is available at this campground.
