About

Esswine Group Campground offers a secluded riverside setting on the Stillaguamish River in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The single group site is tucked among old-growth cedar, fir, and hemlock, providing full shade and privacy for gatherings of up to 25 people. The site features picnic tables, tent pads, and campfire rings with grills. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so all campers must bring their own supply. The campground serves as a base for hiking, fishing, and horseback riding along the Mountain Loop Highway corridor. The Stillaguamish River is known for its salmon runs, including chinook, coho, chum, pink, and sockeye salmon, as well as steelhead and cutthroat trout. On clear days, Mt. Baker is visible from the area. The surrounding wilderness supports diverse wildlife including black bear, so proper food storage is essential. This is a tent-only group site that accommodates up to 5 vehicles. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, and the site also operates on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and checkout is at 12:00 PM.
