About

Turlo Campground occupies a forested riverside setting in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, just off the Mountain Loop Highway near the Verlot Public Service Center. The campground is shaded by old-growth firs, cedars, and hemlocks, with sites descending from the highway toward the south fork of the Stillaguamish River. The river is known for salmon runs including chinook, coho, chum, pink, and sockeye, as well as steelhead and bull trout. The 18 standard nonelectric sites accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers up to 35 feet. Each site includes a picnic table, and vault toilets are provided. Drinking water is available from faucets. Campfires are permitted and pets are welcome. Nearby recreation includes the Mt. Dickerman Trail, which switchbacks 3 miles through forest to alpine meadows with wildflowers in July and August before reaching the 5,723-foot summit. The Verlot Public Service Center, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1933-1942, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
