About

Wild Horse Equestrian Campground sits high in the pine-forested mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest at roughly 7,000 feet elevation. It is one of the few campgrounds in Southern California specifically designed and equipped for equestrian camping, featuring 30 individual 12-by-12-foot horse corrals, a horse mounting area for riders needing assistance, hitching racks, and a horse watering station. The campground offers 8 single-family sites (up to 8 people) and 3 double sites (up to 16 people), all suitable for tent or RV camping. Amenities include two flush toilets, two showers, drinking water hydrants, picnic tables, fire rings with grates, a group fire ring, and a horseshoe game area. There are no hookups or dump stations. The location provides access to a variety of backcountry trails including the Santa Ana River Trail and routes into the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area. Reservations are required through Recreation.gov with a two-day minimum on weekends and three-day minimum on holiday weekends. Dogs are permitted on leashes no longer than six feet.
